It’s jobs day in America and the greenback continues enjoying a lot of strength. The report could serve as an excuse to make the trend your friend. If the headline payrolls figure is between 170K to 230K, we expect a full focus on wages, which carry expectations for 2.3% y/y. A significant rise in wages and a raise for Americans is need for a raise in rates in June, something that is off the cards at the moment. Also watch out for the Canadian jobs report.
